(More customer reviews)Ontel Touchless Swivel Sweeper I have been a fan of the original Swivel Sweeper for several years, but am disappointed with the new "touchless" one.It does not pick up debris, dust, etc., as well as the original one.Most of the time, I have to go over the debris several times to get it to pick up.However, even though the new sweeper is not as good as the original one, I still would not be without it.The "Swivel Sweeper" is the best of the cordless sweepers, if you ask me.

(More customer reviews)This was being demonstrated at Wal-Mart and I purchased one recently.I asked the demonstrator if it picked up pet hairs.She said to buy it and try it and if I didn't like it, to bring it back.It mostly just pushed the dog hair across the floor instead of picking it up.I have an older, single-brush Bissell that does a better job than this gadget, but I'm thinking about trying one of the newer ones that I see high ratings for here at Amazon. (More customer reviews)The people at Shark and Euro-Pro cleaning companies have always known how to make so many great products with vacuums, and carpet sweepers. Nevertheless, when it comes down to it, it really is on how well the vacuum really lasts. Shark's previous cordless sweepers have all done a great job at picking up after everyday messes, but they have been some glitches. I was honestly very skeptical with the latest model when I saw it on television, and I liked it a lot, but as I started to use it, I was hoping for just a bit more. Here is my verdict.

The Shark VX3 Cordless Sweeper is the latest in Euro-Pro's well-recieved carpet sweeper line. This one does a good job at picking up after pet hair and fuzz, and is very simple to setup. You can pick up actually a lot of pet hair, fuzz, or anything off your floors and carpets. It is easy to charge up, and does really works well. The no-mess dust cup is very simple to clean up, and easily removes all that was picked up from the floors. The vacuum is also very easy to carry around, and take from room to room, without feeling the drag of carrying around your vacuum and getting a backache.

That is what I think, even though there really are a few problems that still make could've been a bit easier to pick up after. The first problem deals with the battery. ou have to really keep the sweeper plugged in to your outelt for at least a day, inorder to fully charge a the battery. The VX3's battery also could've had a bit stronger battery life than just an hour long. The second problem deals with the backsaver feature. While the VX3 does pick up well, and is easy to operate, I had a tricky time manuvering the VX3 with the backsaver handle. While the concept is ingenius at folding the handle to make it easier at picking up under the beds and those hard-to-reach areas, it is honestly a little bit harder to control and steer the sweeper.

Still, despite a few problems with the Shark VX3 Cordless Sweeper, I still think it is a very good buy for anyone who wants a easier way to clean up after all those messes on the floor. It just does a great job at really cleaning up your floors and is great for small homes and apartments, or any home that works at a great pace. While you can get this though the As Seen On TV ads, you also can find this at your nearest Macy's for around $70, instead of getting both the VX3 and VX1 models like the infomercial says in its offer for $130. So, suck those problems on the floor away, and try this sweeper out.

I have had the sweeper for about 4-5 months.I use the sweeper for picking up bedding (Carefresh) for my guinea pig and his little poos under the futon.I also use it for little scraps that fall on the floor.It does it job and cleans on the surface but obviously will not replace a vacuum as it does not have suction.

QUALITY - 4 STARS: Sturdy except for the handle, the handle is put together by three pieces that you twist together.The brushes are made of thick nylon so they don't rip out easily.

EASE - 4 STARS: Great, since there's no electricity involved, there's no cords to deal with.It's better used for carpet. I do use it on my tile kitchen floor but sounds like it's scraping it and possibly scratching the floor.It does work on bare floors.
The twin dust pans are great because you can roll the sweeper in both directions and the dust will fall in either pan.

CLEANING - 2 STARS: It picks up hair great but gets caught in the rolling brush.There's a detachable comb to use to pick out the hair but I just use my fingers, it's much faster because I can break the hairs loose but a bit gross.I don't mind getting dirty.

EDGE-CLEANING - 0 STARS: You cannot clean the edges with this thing.You'll have to pull out the vacuum.Since the main brush is in the middle, there's a lot of slack that the brush is not picking up dust.

DURABILITY - 4 STARS: This product will probably last for at least 5 years.Maybe by then, they will have another fantastic product for me. (UPDATE: It's April 2010, and the sweeper is still holding on strong).***PRECAUTION*** Don't be fooled for the five brush system, the four edge-cleaning brushes are worthless.The four edge-brushes do not help in cleaning corners.You should probably INVEST in the DUAL BRUSH system or a good vacuum cleaner with attachments (but not the Duster Buster, I reviewed the Dirt Devil Scorpion, very good).

OVERALL, THE SWEEPER DOES ITS JOB but I would buy this specific product again because it's cheap.I would like to try the dual brush sweeper.I believe that the dual brush sweeper will cover more area than a single brush sweeper but this theory will need to be tested.

(More customer reviews)I bought this at Lowes Home Improvement for 9.97 - it's their regular price. The handle pieces do come out but don't despair! I had some carpet tape (double-sided) lying around and wrapped only a small piece around each end before I put it back together. It works like a charm. For how long, I don't know, but for the price I paid and how well it works otherwise, it will be worth investing in another role of tape in about a hundred years or so.
I can't drag the vacuum out all the time, don't want to and besides the dogs go nuts. This works as well as the carpet sweeper I remember pushing around as a little girl so I gave it an extra star for nostalgia. Gets all crumbs (don't expect it to get ground in dog hair) and gets all lint & small things you'd normally drag out the Hoover for. And No electricty needed!! If you miss the sound however, you can always hum!
