(More customer reviews)This little steamer is the first for me. Have cats and bird and my house had this unpleasant odor. First I bought a brand new powerful upright and this got out dirt I never knew existed. Sadly, even with all the dirt gone, the smell persisted until I bought the Quicksteamer by Bissell. OMG it was embarrassing. This little machine picked up even more dirt, black dirty water. My beautiful orientals are 10 shades brighter and the unpleasant smell has finally found another place in which to reside. Bye, bye bad smell and dirt and hello springtime! It doesn't have the powerful rotating brush (have that on my vacuum) but it cleans and grooms beautifully. I have found that since using his cleaner and I used it often because it is actually fun to use, that the vacuum seems to pick up even more dirt than usual. I don't know the science behind it but between the Bissell cleaning solution and Quicksteamer action, you get one professional looking clean carpet afterwards. I went out and bought "Little Green" by Bissell too. Thats for tight small areas and stairs and Whow to that too.

(More customer reviews)I don't know how Hoover is getting away with this, but this thing called a "SteamVac" is no more a steam cleaner than my Dyson vacum cleaner.This is nothing more than an old fashioned carpet shampooer. I've returned it and put a call into Hoover about the deceptive advertising.I was told if I "thought" it had steam, I should have read the box to be sure! Why would you read the outside of the box to find out if something called a SteamVac has a heating element?Wouldn't that be like going to a car lot and checking under the hoods to see if the model you want comes with an engine? Besides that I didn't have a box to read...I ordered this thru Amazon and
it came in an unmarked brown box with no writing and no pics, so even that suggestion was a bit redundant.In checking out other Hoover models called SteamVac...I am 99.9% sure NONE of them steam. I was told by a Hoover rep that the name "SteamVac" is simply a trade name!In other words being called a steam vac does not mean a thing.Like I've said I can't imagine how Hoover is getting away with this kind of deception, but I know I will never, ever, under any circumstance trust the name Hoover again.

(More customer reviews)I was really excited about this because of the multi-function use. At the same time, I was skeptical. Our little dog likes to pee in small places on the carpet, so we needed good carpet cleaner that would deep clean these areas.

The carpet cleaner works very well. Both the large cleaner extension and the handheld spray and suction the water, which most others do not do. It was a decision between this and the Hoover Agility. The Agility does not seem to have a sprayer on the extension hose.

When it comes to the vacuum, it's not that great. The suction is only good enough for area rugs. The carpet extension has a air powered brush that stops working on normal carpet and it only cleans the top surface debris.

So, if you want something for hardwood and deep carpet cleaning this is great. Just don't try to replace a regular vacuum cleaning with this.

(More customer reviews)I used this product for the first time.I cleaned three floor rugs today with this product.Two of the rugs had no pet smell lingering, but the last rug, which was the most smelly, still had a strong pet smell after cleaning it.I will probably have to re-do this last rug because of the high use it receives and since the dogs tend to like to sit on it. The deoderant in the formula needs to be stronger since pet smells are so strong. Also the formula could use more brighteners in it since I don't see much of a difference after cleaning the rugs.

(More customer reviews)I have now purchased 3 of these machines.The first one was returned to the store less than 6 months after it was purchased because the intake water bucket broke where the handle connects to the bucket and locks down the lid.At the time we returned the first one, we got one for my mom and another one for me, thinking that perhaps the first one was just faulty.Not true.The two new machines broke in exactly the same manner.I have had my machine less than two years and the motor has now burned out on it.You cannot get replacement parts.If you call Hoover for help, you get a "voice mail" runaround.They ended up sending me to a "dealer" that was 20 miles (one way)from my house and when I got there, she informed me that not only did she not have replacement parts, she didn't even sell that machine!I thought this was going to be a great machine - it does a pretty good job of cleaning, but the plastic buckets need to be overhauled.Also - the hand-held attachment for cleaning upholstry, etc. does not work that well.Instead of water coming out and spraying like it should, it just dribbles down your arm.I hate to badmouth a product, but I will never buy another Hoover product again.When will manufacturers learn that we would rather pay a little more for a durable product than less for a cheap one.

(More customer reviews)I recently bought a Proheat machine to clean my (I'm ashamed to say)filthy carpets. I liked the fact that it heats the water, has a powerful brush, and can apply Scotchagrd. When it arrived at my door I couldn't wait to get it out of the box and give it a try. I did take the time to read the manual based on advice from some other reviewers, but I was busy cleaning my carpet in no time. The water was so dirty- I had to save it to show my husband. Neither of us could believe how clean our carpets looked, almost brand new. I don't usually take the time to write reviews, but this cleaner is so amazing that I wanted to share my experience with everyone. Anyone with carpet in their home needs one of these. It's worth every penny.

(More customer reviews)Got this in the mail yesterday, and for the price and quality it can't be beat!Our living room rug was full of stains (mostly spilled drinks) and all the stains came out.We would have spent way more to RENT a steam cleaner from the grocery store.I have no complaints about this product and am so glad I read the positive comments from the other reviewers because they are so correct!I was worried about the item being refurbished but it works as new and looks like new and is half the price of new!Very lightweight and easy to manage filling, pushing, and cleanup afterwards.
